Artists Ink is excited to announce its Youth Ceramics Summer Camp, a week-long hands-on arts experience designed to introduce young artists to the creative world of clay and ceramics. Taking place Monday, July 27 through Friday, July 31, 2026, the camp will be held daily from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is open to youth ages 7 to 14.
Led by mentor Ms. Nada, the Youth Ceramics Summer Camp will provide participants with an engaging introduction to handbuilding, ceramic design, wheel throwing, glazing, and the ceramic firing process. Throughout the week, students will create projects including ceramic rattles, game boards, trinket trays, and other creative clay works while learning foundational techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab construction.
Participants will receive a Youth Ceramics Workbook and five pounds of clay to use throughout the camp. Students will explore texture tools, carving, stamping, and decorative surface design while developing their own artistic style. A special wheel-throwing day will introduce participants to one of ceramics’ most iconic techniques and provide hands-on experience working with a pottery wheel.
In addition to creating artwork, students will learn about clay stages, studio safety, ceramic firing methods, and the cultural traditions of ceramics from around the world. The workshop is designed to foster creativity, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and self-expression in a supportive studio environment.
At the conclusion of the camp, all student artwork will be professionally fired and glazed. Finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately two to three weeks following the completion of the workshop.
Tuition for youth participants is $250 per child for the full week or $60 per day, including glazing day. Families wishing to participate together may choose the Parent & Child option for $350 per pair for the full week or $100 per pair for a single day. Registration opens June 10, 2026. Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
A special Parent & Child participation option will also be available for families interested in creating together. Parents or guardians may register to participate alongside their child for either the full week or a single day of the camp. The Parent & Child rate is $350 for the full week or $100 for a single day, providing a unique opportunity for families to learn new skills, collaborate on projects, and share the creative experience together.
